What is the Most Prevailing Need Among Christians?

"The most prevailing need among Christians today is to spend a certain amount of time every day reading and praying in the presence of the Lord" (Lee, Witness. Basic Elements of the Christian Life, Anaheim: Living Stream Ministry, 2003, Print).  These opening sentences  on page 7 got all of us reflecting when we read  the chapter A Time with the Lord  on Friday night. I liked the way this chapter focused on our need to receive spiritual nourishment from the Bible.

One of the classic verses in this chapter is Jeremiah 15:16  Your words were found and I ate them....   I really like these lines that explains what this means:
This statement is not according to our human concept.  If it were not written in the Bible, we would never have thought that we must eat the Word of God.  We might say that we must learn about the Word and study the Word.  The most we would say is that we must receive the Word of God. But we would never use the word eat!  Jeremiah ate the word of God.  This means he received the word into him, assimilated it, and made it a part of himself (Page 9).
If it weren't for Ephesians 6:17-18A it would be a little hard to figure out what it means to spiritually eat the Word of God:  And receive ...  the sword of the Spirit, which Spirit is the word of God, by means of all prayer and petition, ....  God's word is our spiritual food and by praying over it, we receive nourishment!  All the students especially enjoyed looking up Psalm 119:103 which says,  How sweet are Your words to my taste!  Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
